Hi I'm new here, just need to release as very stressful day. Don't post online usually.

I have been going through the benefits assesments after claiming uc, since April, previosly 7 years in job.due to medically unfit for job.

The whole process was horrendous, I feel for people on here, as it was alien to me not having claimed in 27 years.

I have psoratic arthritis, osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia and am awaiting counselling for severe long term anxiety /depressionetc. I worked nights for years, hiding away tactics to avoid people. No longer physically able.

My point is, pip phone assessment 3weeks ago, taken meds prn prescribed via MHN. appointment 12, cancelled 12.11.

Last week new appointment, support person there, prn meds again. Over an hr, still felt rushed.

Jump forward 6 days after pip. Call have WCA, today between 1pm and 4pm. Previous things in place. Spent all day waiting. My daughter in law spent day with me, no call. 5.15 rang dwp, very distressed, nice lady gave a number. Rang it, a bored sounding chap asked questions, then checked, said didn't you get a call, Noooo. It says they don't need do a phone assessment.

Sorry to waffle, but what the .....…

Hi @SBC. You're always welcome to vent to us here. A lot of us will have had a similar experience so we can relate 😊 I agree that the process is very stressful, and it's even worse when you already have mental health issues. I have similar conditions to you so I completely understand. I think communication between benefits staff is often lacking and sometimes people are given incorrect information. It doesn't help with the stress and worry!

What's the next step? Waiting to hear the results from PIP and UC?

Yes the DWP said waiting game could go one of three ways. This confuses me as to why they cancelled phone assessment, without telling me. Then when rang said have enough evidence. This is for WCA. I also rang DWP as advised on here about PIP copy yesterday . They said assessor forwarded it on 14th to DWP.

Very confusing, just wondered if others had same thing happen xx
