Hi @Catlady666, I'm really sorry to read that you've had such a rough time of it lately, and I'm so sorry for the loss of your husband. It's never easy to lose a loved one. I'm going to send you an email later today so please look out for that, but in the meantime, we have lots of friendly members who have been through the PIP process so I'm sure you'll get some good advice.
Is there anything in particular you need advice about with your Mandatory Reconsideration?
With PIP, they often like to see specific examples of how your conditions affect you day to day. They use descriptors to decide on points, so it can be helpful if you can describe some real life situations where your conditions have affected your ability to carry out the activities in the descriptors. I'll put a link to the descriptors below in case you'd like to read them:
Personal Independence Payment (PIP) points system (benefitsandwork.co.uk)
If you feel as if you have missed out on points, you can explain which descriptors you feel apply to you and give some examples about how your conditions affect you. There's a bit of information about this on the Scope website that you might like to read through:
Appealing a benefits decision | Disability charity Scope UK
I hope the community can provide some support and that things start feeling easier for you soon. If you have any questions please don't be afraid to ask 😊

I wish I knew what to say to them. They’ve said no. I don’t feel they will change their mind. I can move and get around and don’t need the money. I walk slowly with a cane. Im dizzy, asthmatic COPD and unable to move fast even if my life depended on it. What more do they need? You’d think if they contacted my GP they would get a better idea of what’s wrong with me. No one would employ me with my medical history. A diabetic stroke victim…..hmmmm no…..

Sorry for your loss. The most likely outcome of the MR will be the decision doesn't change so please try not to be too disheartened if this happens. There's much more chance at Tribunal stage providing you either appear in person or have a telephone/video hearing.
Please be aware also that PIP isn't about your ability to work, so they won't be looking at your ability to work.
They very rarely contact anyone for any evidence so please don't rely on that.
Did you put the MR request in writing? Ringing them to request it, isn't advised because you can't be certain they are typing what you've asked them to.
You need to state where and why you think you should have scored those points. If you didn't give a couple of real world incidents of exactly what happened the last time you attempted each descriptor that applies to you then you should also do that. Include detailed information such as where you were, what exactly happened, did anyone see it and what the consequences were.
Timescales for MR decisions is up to 15 weeks.
