As you live with a partner and have children on your claim then the information I gave above is irrelevant to you.

I'd advise you to inform UC about your recent PIP award. As you're claiming with a partner, providing they are not claiming the LCWRA element for their self they can claim carers element of UC for looking after you. (assuming they are not claiming this or carers allowance for looking after someone else)

To claim it they will need to report a change of circumstances and then click "caring for someone" your UC maximum entitlement will then increase by £198.31/month.

You don't need to claim Carers Allowance in order to claim the Carers Element of Universal Credit. If you receive Carers Allowance this is deducted £ for £ from the Universal Credit so there is no financial benefit. Also there is an earnings limit on Carers Allowance but not for the Carers Element of Universal Credit.

Yes your husband can claim carers element for looking after you. Please refer back to my previous comment.

Once the decision is made on your WCA if you're found to have LCWRA then the carers element that you receive for yourself will stop because the same person can't receive both elements at the same time.

Carers allowance will continue but as advised there's no financial gain to claiming it anyway.
