disability trust
A trust has been set up in my mother's will for my daughter, her grandfather whom she has never met is dying and has asked if he can leave a % of his estate to go into the Disability Trust set up by my mother. Can this be done, my understanding of the trust is that monies can be accepted into the trust from other people to be administered under the trust rules. Will this affect her benefits as left to the trust not to my daughter?

Hi @britishroses.
This isn't something I've encountered before but here is some information about a Trust including how it may affect benefits: Scope - Trusts. Here's some information about family members paying into the trust Disabled Person's Trusts. Scroll down to the FAQs and you'll find the information under 'What assets can I put in?'. It seems there would be no issues with her grandfather leaving a percentage of his estate. Hope that helps 😊
