Try not to worry until we know @Catherine21 The sad thing is it is still eight weeks until the Budget. It is a case of we need to know but really do not want anymore bad news. Lets see.

As Bluebell has said, it's best not to worry and as you knew I would say "nothing's set in stone" Honestly I've not heard anything about council tax. Please remember that a lot of "news" sites aren't giving you actual news, just speculation that fits their narrative. So it's best to just wait and see what happens.
We can't judge Labour just yet, as in theory, they've only really been in power since Monday when everyone returned to Parliament. 😆

I think labour are going to be worse than the tories too. They lied to get votes but are clearly right wing.

Honestly so worrying everyday something different tried to stay positive but don't hold onto hope

The best thing you can honestly do @Catherine21 is to be very very selective where you read your news/information from. So many places want you to get angry, or upset, as that's what gets them clicks and makes them money.
It's best not to listen to any rumours, or it'll just make the anxiety a million times worse. I'm speaking from experience here. 😆

I understand but doesn't look good

My old therapist always said "Only worry about the things you can control" and honestly, it's helped me so much @Catherine21 Right now, there is nothing we can do about a situation that may not happen.
It's much better to train the brain to stay in the present, instead of the past or possible futures. 😊2 -
Very true

It's not just for people on benefits. I suppose it's possible they might means-test it but as to abolishing it completely they'd have every person who lives alone in the whole country on their necks. I had it all my working life.

I read this earlier and have been thinking about it since although I have been trying not to, another worry added to my endless worries, if they do abolish this I don’t know how I will manage and probably end up going to court for arrears

Hello again @Catherine21
I understand it's a worrying time at the moment and I think most people are feeling pretty much the same.
Unfortunately it is a waiting game at the moment to find out what will happen and I know this doesn't help with stress levels.
When I have been worried lately I have thought about the beautiful quote that you posted not so long ago to support us all. It was:
"I have had many worries in my life, most of them didn't happen!" ❤️
I'm not down playing the fact that times are difficult at the moment but your quote does give me hope.
Thank you
Jodie 🙂

Oh that black hole! I thought black holes sucked in everything around them. I'm wondering if their reaction strikes anyone else as over-drive, disguised panic, the way some people if they're told their cholesterol is high remove every molecule of fat from their meals or if they find they've got less money than they thought they had resolve to spend nothing at all until the end of the month.

Ah thankyou Jodie xx
