Fit note start date new uc claim

Started making a UC online claim on 28/08/24 & completed it on 30/08/24.

I entered details of fit note I had that goes from 28/08/24 to end of November, 13 weeks and 3 days covered.

UC on the journal are say I need a whole new fit note starting the 30/08/24 (day claim completed). Is this true? Because I have to get a gp appointment to do this which takes weeks and all to add two days?! My fit note covers the 30/08 & 3 months after. Plus first activity on journal, completing half the claim is on 28/08.

it doesn’t make sense because one of options when you open account is do you have a fit note & who will have a fit note exactly that day?!

It seems ridiculously petty and huge waste of my time. On my journal I asked for a proper explanation and manager to tell me where it says this in their rules that it must start day of the claim.

Your UC claim starts on the date you actually submit your claim. When you report a health condition you then have 7 days to provide a fit note.

Yes, they are being very petty and there’s no reason why that fit note can’t be accepted.
