Lcwra
Hi all, I am so confused and have spent the past hour looking for answers but as everyone’s situation is different , I am hoping for some personal advice .
I phoned the LCWRA assessment people today and they confirmed that my husbands UC50 report had been reviewed by them and sent back to the DWP just short of two weeks ago . I then called UC and they couldn’t give me an update and suggested I message payments via the journal to see what’s going on.
My husband hasn’t had a phone assessment which I would have assumed, like PIP a would have been done via the independent assessors . So is that cause for concern? He was signed off work from the 19th May but I didn’t set us up with UC until the 31st May.
I’ve just started to be awarded with carers element . So does that mean if it hopefully when he gets LCWRA, are they both assumed as income , therefore resulting in us getting a lesser amount from UC?
Also, and I am sure that I know the answer but just to get clarification, would any back payment be due throughout the first three months ?
He’s signed off currently until next month but the doctor will be extending that accordingly which will sadly be got quite some time.
Many thanks

Sounds like he’s had a paper based assessment.
If he’s found to have LCWRA then this will be extra money, not less money because it’s not income. LCWRA is an extra £416.19/month from the 4th month after he provided his first fit note. It’s not paid at all during the waiting period.
Now the report is returned a decision can take up to 12 weeks but very often it’s before that. Once a decision is made if you have access to a journal the letter will be uploaded into there.
