Late reporting of rent increase

I really need advice please.

I receive Universal credit housing element and my rent increased on the 22nd June. The updated rent agreement the landlord issued had incorrect details in relation to the address which I only noticed when I went to submit the change so obviously couldn't submit. I have been chasing the landlord for the last two months for a correct version which they promised and didn't deliver on more than one occasion so have been unable to submit a change as I do not have correct documents to do so!

Obviously I am still chasing this with the landlord and I have been paying the difference myself in the meantime but will I get in trouble for late reporting of a rent increase with universal credit under the circumstances? I am autistic, disabled, have really poor mental health and am a full time carer so have really worked myself up about this.

I do not even care about the backpay I just do not want to be in trouble.

    Good afternoon @sendmum.

Try not to worry, you're unlikely to get in trouble for this. Unfortunately it's unlikely they will backdate the rent element in this situation though. Has the landlord still not provided you with the updated the evidence for you? How incorrect are the details? The odd typo is unlikely to matter.

    Thank you.

No I still don't have the corrected version!

basically our landlord has several properties including several at the back of ours and the address on the document is a mix of mine and theirs.

It might be worth you explaining to your landlord that until he fixes it you're going to struggle to pay the increased rent, that might speed things up a little @sendmum.
