I'm finding it hard to control my emotions ! One minute I'm OK then gripped by fear I know reason why neighbour going into everything about politics I'm so worn out since last October been on fight flight mode I'm exhausted noting feels the same it was bad before god ! It will be very intreasting tomorrow if labour agree with starmer on winter fuel allowance if they all agree with starmer psychology he's won and will do whatever he wants ruling by fear and if it gets passed they won't cry out when it comes to disabled cuts or any cuts labour are a BIG disappointment to me

I am sorry you are finding all this so distressing @Catherine21 Unfortunately with such a big majority Labour can do more or less what they want. I think though we need to wait for the 30 October to see what the budget says.

Try not to worry before we know for sure.

    Please take care of yourself.

I think you really need to step away from the media for a while @Catherine21 with all the clickbait out there, you're just going to make yourself ill from worry and we certainly don't want that! Please be gentle with yourself as we're all worried about the future, but I'm choosing to just go with the flow and I'm waiting to see what Oct 30th brings.

It's worth noting they haven't totally scrapped the winter fuel allowance, they've just made it means tested. People can still claim it.

Even with a significant majority, Labour’s power could be undermined if they fail to reach a consensus. While some Labour MPs might cast a distinct "No" vote, I am particularly interested in how many choose to abstain. Although these abstentions may not prevent the proposal from passing, they could reveal significant divisions within the party. If Labour MPs fail to present a unified front on this issue, it will become increasingly difficult for Sir Keir Starmer to maintain authority.

@Catherine 21 your not alone it's so awful and depressing. This government is causing people a lot of unessary pain. It is not a nice feeling waking up depressed everyday and worrying yourself sick about tomorrow and what else they are gonna attack. I worry sick that myself and my son may become homeless because if my benefit payments get messed around with by DWP cuz of this stupid migration thing. I will not be able to afford the rip off bedroom tax/rent. I know they won't hesitate to evict they have already told me I can not miss a single payment because they will definitely evict. I feel sorry for everyone on low incomes at the minute god help everyone.😞😞😞

You always put everything so perfect that's exactly what I be looking for the cracks in his armour as from what I've witnessed of him he does like to rule by some sort of fear threat doesn't like to back down or is this all a show for us the people for him to say well a majority agree not such bad guy then all for the good of the country hope doesn't make an example of mps who disagree because when it comes to our time and we're not happy no one will challenge him just my thoughts

I think this government won't survive until 2026. Suicide Squad, but without Margot Robbie.

I'd try not to think about it too much, a lot of less reputable media are purposefully trying to get people hating on the new government as it suits their agenda and the clicks pay their bills nicely. I'm withholding my judgment until after the budget.

It's worth remembering that often for things to get better, things have to get worse for a while, but it's never forever. 😊

Reputable media or Less reputable media … People are not stupid and see how prices and taxes are rising and payments to disabled people are decreasing.

We have a new government now @egister so blaming any issues from the past 14 years on them seems a bit silly. Things won't happen overnight unfortunately.

Starmer is something different he's definitely not for the people let's see if that Labour Mp gets prison sentence for saying the most vile things oh he's got a lawyer and 100 per cent get away with saying vile things no prison sentence it is literally them and us

A new government is like repainting a car with a faulty engine. Instead of engine repair. Engine repair is expensive, so we decided to save money and fill the engine with cheap oil from a steam locomotive. Do you understand me? Even a dying engine should not be filled with oil that is not approved by the manufacturer.

Oh our engine is very broken after so many years of sticking plasters instead of proper full MOTs, but it sounds like the new engineers want to strip the engine down and work on the defects finally. It's far too early to say though, the garage has only just opened. 😁

Well thier not going to suffer asking us to accept hard hard times whilst they still claim for thier second homes ! A labour voter most my life so disappointed sick of hearing 22 black hole and they think because they say we had to make some hard choices makes it alright why don't they take cuts!! When I feel like this I'd email them but I won't

There are no new engineers - they are the same from century to century, but they do not do maintenance and just change the color of the car (government). Why do you think that something depends on the paint?
