Finishing work

I'm in uc and put on lwcra I have been off work since March and can not return. If I give up my job will I get sanctioned by uc. I have many health conditions and now that I can not go back it is making my depression and anxiety worse having to get sick notes and phone work every week.

Hi @dexy sorry to hear things have been making your mental health worse. But as you have LCWRA, you don't have to work, or look for work and should not have to continue handing in sick notes.

Thank you but I've been told that if I resign from my job I would be sanctioned. My employer wants a meeting with me next week Iand I feel physically sick. Would i put it in my uc journal if i did resign Thank you for your reply

Hi @dexy, people in the LCWRA group have no work commitments, so if you need to leave your job you shouldn't be sanctioned. You'd need to put in a change of circumstances to say you'd no longer be working.

Was it someone at UC that told you you'd be sanctioned?

Thank you no it was welfare rights. I just put message on my journal asking. Also I was asked by UC for a fit note after I had letter saying I was awarded LWCRA I thought that I didn't need to provide them if on LCWRA. Thank you

Hi @dexy, you shouldn't need to provide fit notes any more if you've had your letter to say you're in the LCWRA group. But the people at UC will know more about your case, so hopefully they can reply to your message and let you know whether there's anything more you need to do. Fingers crossed it all gets sorted 😊
