    Hi @Sid98

A warm welcome to the community. I am sorry to hear that you are in this difficult position. It is awful to be cold. Especially if you have health concerns.

You could try contacting https://www.scope.org.uk/disability-energy-support which is a service that we have. They will be able to give you advice.

You might also be able to https://www.nea.org.uk/get-help/ from National Energy Action if you contact them.

I hope that the information helps. Please don't hesitate to ask any further questions and I am sure someone else will add more information.

    Take care

Hello Sid, did you get the roof repaired?

    Hello,

I live with my parents and I am on pip enhanced rate.

I want to know where i can find help for who can fix our roof as we have got a lot of mould, damp and wet walls. our roof needs repairing we have already had 3 different builders try to fix it but they never solved the issue and instead made the problem worse and now my parents are unable to afford to get the roof fixed as the cost is too much and the damp affects my health as well as i have got eczema.

@WhatThe We spoke to groundworks who have done an assessment and have said they will be fixing the roof.

Sid, that is good to hear!

Will they do those repairs before the winter weather arrives? I once had a leaky roof with water spoiling the loft space and staining the ceiling plaster in the living room. It's not a pleasant smell or sight.

Can Groundworks arrange for the use of a dehumidifier or two to reduce moisture levels in the property while you are waiting for them to start the works? They can be hired or bought. You will need good ventilation alongside any heating in the attic. Warm air holds more moisture so adequate ventilation plus a dehumidifier is advisable for some time after the repairs are complete.

@WhatThe We are waiting for the contractors to get in touch with us to set a date for repairing the roof. I will definitely look into getting the dehumidifier
