Help getting a NHS wheelchair
I have become very disabled with Lyme arthritis and would like any advice as to who will help me obtain a NHS wheelchair. I am on DL allowance and pension credit.

Hi @jacqui39, welcome to the community.
If you speak to your GP or specialist, they should be able to refer you to have a wheelchair assessment. They'll have a look at your needs and see if there's anything they can offer you. There's a little bit of information here if you'd like to have a look:
Walking aids, wheelchairs and mobility scooters - Social care and support guide - NHS (www.nhs.uk)
Some areas you can self-refer to wheelchair services so it's worth doing an online search to see if this is something you can do where you live.
There are also options about for hiring wheelchairs if you'd like to try one out beforehand, the Red Cross do this if you'd be able to self-propel. But if you plan to be using it long term or have more complex needs, then I'd imagine that the NHS would be a better port of call 😊
Hope you can get something sorted soon!
