Hi not sure where to start I have had pip standard rate daily living 72.65 and enhanced rate mobility £75.75 I didn't know my husband could claim as only on a low wage working 35 hours a week I have been told I should get it from when I started getting it but not sure how it works how long can I backdate claim please ?

What is it that your husband will be claiming? And which benefit are you hoping to have backdated?

Hi thank you its carers we have never claimed and just been told we should be getting it from when I was awarded it from about 2011 ? We didn't know we should of thank you

Hi @angie_p and welcome from me too! Unfortunately you'll only be able to backdate to the date you apply for the carers benefit. But you could ask the DWP if they'd be willing to backdate it further, but I cant guarantee they'll agree.
