UC and fit note
I have been on ESA for 7 years.
I am moving to UC. Had phone appointment as cannot do face to face. They said I need a fit note to claim UC . I have not needed a fit note for years. Also on pip. Just tried econsult and it asks for dates.
I have no idea.
Please help.

As you are moving to UC from ESA, you do not need a Fit Note.
It can take a few weeks for ESA and UC to talk to each other, and for UC to get confirmation of your ESA status. Once that happens, you will be awarded UC LCWRA automatically.
If you haven't already, put a note on your journal stating you are moving from an ESA SG claim.
Sit tight and wait for things to progress.

Thank you. I have this on my journal already and explained it at my first appointment. I was told I still need a fit note. Without one I will be expected to look for work. I said I'm on ESA sg.

Unfortunately you got someone who doesn't know what they are talking about.
I did too at my commitments appointment, but she listened to what I said and asked a more experienced colleague - who endorsed what I had said.
You could try putting another note on directing them here with reference to point 10.

Thank you so much. I'll do as you suggest. I'll let you know how it goes.
Thank you again.

Hi @haras321, sorry to hear about the unpleasant experience. As Kimmy says you should be fine and should not need a fit note. It sounds like you got someone who has forgotten some of their training and has just applied the "regular" requirements on you. But as you are transferring with ESA you shouldn't.
Let us know how you get on?

Many thanks for your advice. I contacted them a few times with the advice everyone has given and all sorted now. They are never very clear in their comments in the journal!
But yes, all sorted now.
Thank you.
