Holiday insurance for pre-existing conditions.

I'm thinking of visiting Spain next year, and would need holiday insurance that covers pre existing health conditions (I'm not comfortable going with just a GHIC).
Mine aren't serious but I did have a 4 day hospital stay recently due to viral gastroenteritis, I believe it hit me harder because of my existing problems.
Any experiences, good/bad companies, is it quick to get cover as I'd like to book last minute? Thanks.

Hi @Kimmy87, I had a trip to the USA earlier this year and wasn't about to go there without some serious insurance! Found it was quite quick and easy to set up, it might vary depending on the company but the documents all came through within a few hours for me.
The company I found were listed on various websites about pre-existing conditions, there were a few different options and I just went for the one that seemed to have decent reviews while still being affordable for my list of conditions. I had no problems setting it up, but I didn't need to make a claim so I can't comment on whether that would be easy or not.
Hope you can find something suitable for your holiday 😊

Thank you Rosie.
One of my parents lives in the US and is fast reaching an age where they won't be able to travel here.
So this trip to Spain is a test run for me, to see how it goes in terms of how my health copes etc.
