New user - help required re identifying Pip2 form
Good morning everyone. I am new to the forum and found you whilst searching for answers re the PIP 2 Form (June 2018 edition) which i received in August. The form appears to be different than the one described and/or shown on independent PIP Help Forums / YouTube videos and indeed, the DWP PIP website. I am now left wondering if I have got the right form from DWP or if there is a newer edition since I initiated my claim back in March this year.
I also have a query re paper or online completion and I really hope one of you lovely people can assist me.
These are my queries:
- When completing the PIP1 by telephone back in March, I was not given a choice between paper and online by the adviser. I chose alternative colour paper to assist cognition.
- On the DWP SITE and other organisations, there is reference made to a barcode or QR code on the front page of the PIP letter. There is none on the letter or form I’ve received last month.
- The letter which came with it is a separate piece of paper and not a tear off page from the booklet as described on DWP web page and other forums.
- On the bottom (footer) of each page is the form edition which states PIP2 June 2018.
- On certain questions there seem to be more descriptor points allocated. So, for example on mine, there is a couple less questions e.g, 4a, 4b on my form than on the DWP website and other independent PIP forums shows.
- There is no section for learning difficulties, cognitive functioning or mental health.
My queries are as follows:
- At the PIP1 screening assessment completed over the telephone in March this year, I was asked if I wanted a different coloured paper form than white. Due to cognitive issues, I chose a different colour than white. The PIP2 form which I have received is 33 pages long in total (including letter and guidance) all on 1-sided paper and not the booklet which DWP and other forums refer to.
My questions are:
1. Could I have been sent an old form template (PIP2 June 2018) - which is why there’s no booklet, no barcode and no tear off front page?
2. Has the PIP2 been updated prior to me registering in March 2024 or updated between March and August 2024 which is when I received the forms?
3. If the PIP2 form edition of June 2018 is correct, is my form different ‘purely’ because I was offered (and accepted) an alternative coloured paper? Finally:
4. Should I have been offered the choice back in March between paper application or applying online? I live in West Midlands and the office dealing with my claim is in Wolverhampton.
I am currently on hold (and have been since 9.30am) to PIP Helpline which is when I came across your forum in the hope I can hang up and crack on, or whether I need to stay on the call until someone answers!
I would be truly grateful for any advice. Sorry for the very wordy post! Much love, Dolly xxx
