I love them too @Beaver79 ,a garden that we see on our daily walks has a gorgeous red one growing in one of the borders.

The garden's a mess, weeds and brambles everywhere and the grass is knee high.I feel like I should rescue the poor thing,,it deserves better.

@Teigr I bought a heavy duty black bin out of wicks especially for those extra clippings ๐Ÿ‘ Sometimes the garden bin gets really full and the bin man won't take it. At one point I tried turning it into a composter by drilling holes in it (watched a YouTube video) but the novelty didn't last ๐Ÿ˜‚

I've reached my limit of plants for this year, Time to sit back and enjoy it. The most I'll do now is seed collecting for next year. I'm expecting to have surgery around September, so I'll just have someone mow the little bit of grass and water things for me while I concentrate on getting a bit of sun on my glowing white legs ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ‘

I don't have a garden but I hope people will like the verge on the other side of the road. I lie back on my sofa and watch the birds and squirrels and the bushes shaking and dancing in high winds. Earlier in the year there were masses of daffs. Now it's hollyhock time.

My partners chilli plants didn't survive the cold and wet weather we've had.

But our berry vines have loved it!

A little update from me. Here's my various chillis, raspberries, tomatoes (that randomly germinated in there) and strawberries in the raised veg patch, all doing their thing.

It's not been a great few months for fruit and veg, but the chillis are finally taking off! Out of 40 seeds, I have one pea vine growing, poor lil guy.

Hah, yeah I often have a chat with the plants down there each evening @Beaver79, the people who's garden leads onto ours must think I'm either bonkers, or I have a friend who's very quiet. ๐Ÿ˜†

I'm going to attempt planting some peas one last time and hope they don't get munched. ๐Ÿคž

@Beaver79 Sweet William has to be one of favourite flowers and they produce so many seeds to collect for the following year๐Ÿ‘

@Rosie_Scope do you remember a few years back when courgette spaghetti was really popular? I even bought a little contraption so you could make your own. That was a fad!!๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ The things probably somewhere at the back of a cupboard here ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ waiting for my next health kick. Funny enough, I bought a courgette in my recent shop, it's sitting in the fridge but I can't remember what I was going to do with it???๐Ÿ˜‚ Good luck with your peas @Albus_Scope I've a family of sparrows that wont let me grow them more than a few inches tall ๐Ÿ˜‚ How's everyone's tomatoes plants doing this year? Mine are stunted ๐Ÿ˜. But I've got plans out there in the garden today. Just building up some energy ๐Ÿ’ช

Oh @onedayatatime, our tomatoes have not done great. While they're doing well know they did not like the first few cold weeks of June!

I'd like to ask if anyone has used one of those weed burning tools, the one that's a long stick with gas cannister attached? I'm a bit nervous using things like that๐Ÿ˜‚ I'm wanting to know if it would be suitable for the job I need to do or any suggestions. I have a patch of ground, 4ft x 15ft, that needs clearing of weeds. The patch is baked clay but does have some rose bushes and a few odd flowers plants I'd like to save. I've seen these tools used on things like patio weeds and weeds growing between concrete. Would it be suitable for selectively burning this area of clay do you think? I can't bend to pull weeds and the clay is also super hard. I've managed to chop things low to the ground but they will of course be growing back pretty soon ๐Ÿ˜‚ I'm also a bit nervous of setting the whole thing ablaze! Maybe burner in one hand, hose in the other๐Ÿ‘ I don't like using chemicals, so do you think this tool is the right thing for the job?
