Ohh Google ...spreads quickly through rain, can effect large areas of trees, infect plant material and soil and debris on boots and tires. 🙄

If grown in pots and well maintained it is absolutely breathtaking, I bought 3 different colours

Yeah ideal for pots mint also as it takes over

Mint is super useful but yeah I’d only grow that in pots too as it does like to take over and very rapidly

Bindweed is currently my nemesis. My neighbour has loads of it growing in their very unkempt garden and now it's infested our garden too. 😖

It’s an absolute nightmare, we had problems with it where we lived before(also caused by a neighbour) and no matter what we did it managed to come back

now i have a question could we have this located to stay up the top i think we have on the other gardening thread proven that we are not a bad bunch or reprobates

@Albus_Scope is this something that’s possible?

best way to eradicate bind weed is to keep cutting it at ground level and eventually it will die due to not being able to photosynthesize us old farmers know a thing or 2 lol

Same here with next doors garden and weeds

We were doing that with old neighbours bindweed that made it into our garden but as we couldn’t get to the base of it more just poured in, thankfully we moved so that solved it

Thanks @michael57 it's always useful having a farmer on the community. 😆
I've made it my morning routine to hobble around the ggarden, pulling up any I find. But there's always bits I can't get to or miss. But I'm slowly winning the battle!
I like Luchias idea of just moving though haha.I'll ask the team if it's ok to sticky the discussion, but no promises!

Moving was cheaper than getting a permit to bomb the bindweed lol
It really is horrible stuff when left to take over which is a shame because it’s actually quite pretty well it’s well maintained but I imagine that would be a full time job

we have a little in our garden if you can contain it and keep on top of it its a lovely flower and the bees love it everything in moderation is good

I’ve seen it in a few gardens that have kept it maintained and the flowers are absolutely lovely and makes a lovely ground cover, it’s very similar to Vinca Minor but when left to its own devices it becomes an evil little flower kinda like little shop of horrors but without the fun musical numbers

like i have said before a weed is only a weed if you dont want it in your garden it is rather high maintenance tho as you found out

Plus side of the day I got all 6 rhododendron planted, Amazon delivered the 2 tall planters early so I’ve put a white rhododendron in each of them and put them at each side of back door, and 2 trough planters have 2 rhododendron in each(light and dark pink).
Putting the Bark Chips mulch around them was a fun challenge as it needed to be even but leave a space around the base of each plant

Think I spent too long in the sun yesterday as today I’m not feeling too well, thankfully all my potting is done so only thing to do later is put some feeding granules down for the plants

I get they look lovely well done on your hard work l, it's not easy doing gardens.

The plan was to do the 2 trough planters yesterday and the 2 tall planters today but Amazon delivered them a day early so thought it would be best to do all 4 at the same time(Less sweeping up lol)
I have the special granules coming today but that’s only a 5 minute job and they last 6 months.
