Not quite as exotic as Rosies tomato, but my chillis are having a lovely time. Loads of fruits on about ten different varieties of chilli. I think I'll be making a lot of sauces, jams and salts soon. 😁

    • Oh my! @Rosie_Scope I went so far as to super zoom in on that tomato 😂. I wanted to share a few photos I took this evening whilst having an evening stroll around the garden. I am so super pleased that these little insects are back!
    • I think they are hummingbird hawk moths. I haven't had them in the garden for a couple of years , so super pleased to see them this evening! Those wings move so fast!!

@onedayatatime They are big moths the hummingbird hawk moths. Spiritually this moth is seen by some cultures as a symbol of peace, prosperity, longevity and good fortune. They must like your garden, I am glad they have come back for you.

Wow, so cool that you get the hummingbird hawk moths @onedayatatime!

We used to get lots of amazing red cinnabar moths in our garden, but we didn't get many this year even though I left the ragwort growing for the caterpillars. Not sure what happened there! We did get hundreds of bees this year though which is a good sign 😊

Just had a jasmine officinale clotted cream delivered today and absolutely thrilled with it.

First time buying plants online and wasn’t sure what to expect but it’s a good size and very healthy

This is the only really oddly shaped Banana Fingerling potato I grew this summer. Not quite sure what to do with it! I'm 77 years old and live in central Maine, US. We downsized in 2018, moving from an 1830s farmhouse with a 50 foot square garden to a small home where we added raised beds that were filled with compost from "Scrap Dog" (they collect one's kitchen waste weekly and trade it for a bag of the compost they create).

Loving the wonky veg!😁 @Bluebell21 I didn't know that about the hawkmoth but it pleasantly made me very happy. I find the insects in the garden as fascinating as the flowers! @Rosie_Scope I've had a very cheeky fox visiting recently who's visiting both day and night. He's taken a very keen interest in my garden hose. This morning I've found it chewed up into 8 different pieces!! To add extra insult, he's left a very distinct odour at the back door. I read somewhere that white vinegar helps with this smell so have tried cleaning the concrete down with a bottle 👍 The downside is that it now smells like a chip shop and I fancy a portion of chips.😂
