I know this is off topic but the other problem we having is with council tax we got adaptation done to our downstairs toilet that had a cupboard space in it we got the cupboard ripped out to make a wet room for me due to access issue to a bath we was told we could get a reduction in council tax and after we applied to them they came back 20 weeks after we made the application to say that we don’t qualify as the room was not an additional space

the shower is added on and the wet walls were also added as this was a cupboard are they just not listening to me or am I being silly

You're very welcome. No, as a carer he doesn't need to continue with the WCA. There would be no financial gain anyway because only 1 person can receive the LCWRA element on your claim.

They might have meant PIP rather than LCWRA?

PIP isn't means tested and it doesn't affect UC.

@OverlyAnxious it’s ok I should have stated that I have left a note in the journal and I contacted citizens advice as @poppy123456 said. They have made an incorrect calculation

Yes, I've just read Poppy's post and pleased that you won't be any worse off now.

I thought it was odd they didn't take the Carers Element off first before recalculating the TP. But still learning about TP erosion myself and wasn't sure if that was normal or not. Will know for future reference that it's not normal.

I was thinking the same and asking them at uc is as useful as a chocolate teapot they just kept saying they are right but I am not going to settle until they fix it because they are ment to balance it back out so no one is worse off it’s just a minefield and I’m so grateful that everyone on here is taking the time to help me and my family
