Landlord Reasonable Adjustment Request
hello
My landlord is refusing to allow me to have a carer move in with me and so I have been advised to formally requested as a reasonable adjustment.
Has anybody done this either specifically for having a career move in or any other reasonable adjustments for their disability?
I have got a template letter from EASS but it says to be specific and explain how I am at a substantial disadvantage because of my disability compared to a non-disabled person.
I never know how to word these things without seeing examples, I asked ChatGPT to have a go but iits response was quite vague.
Thank you

Hi @Rose2286, did the landlord say exactly why they wouldn't allow your carer to move in? It seems fairly reasonable unless there some other factors?
Is this a carer being provided by your Local Authority or is it in a more unofficial capacity?
If you like you can try explaining to us how your conditions affect you and we can figure out some idea of what you can put into writing to your Landlord. Otherwise you could seek help from Citizen's Advice on forming the letter. Or perhaps the carer, if you have one already just not living with you, can help?

Hi Jimm
Thanks for your reply. I managed to get a bit further with chat GPT but now feeling like the best thing might be just to look for somewhere else. Not ideal as I’m very ill.
