Benefits not paid/received - ESA
My friend has not received benefits for some time now putting them in financial hardship so borrowing money of friends and family to survive. Benefits said numerous of times friend was getting them but never do unforuntely. Due back payments from missed payments that were due. Friend said if no money received by 9am phone up and it’ll be in your account by the end of the day, (can they do this?) but it wasn’t and the manager was apologetic. Said itll be in account Friday heard that 5-6 times now but never is. Also said there was a computer problem/error. Friend is not mentally stable either and not very well either. PIP got stopped as well but should be put back in place soon supposedly as it is hard for friend to do a lot of daily tasks easily.
What steps can friend take/do to get money that they are owe/entitled into their account ASAP?
Friend has been talking to peabody before and will talk to them tomorrow regarding this situation.

Hi there @si456 and welcome back!
Sorry to hear your friend is still having issues with their benefits. They can put in an official complaint, but that may not speed things up. Back payments can take several weeks to calculate and pay out unfortunately. It looks like we don't have a lot of information to go on though, which benefit are they claiming and why is backpay owed?
