Hello @ernie2009 how lovely to see you posting! I hope you and your family are all well.

Sorry for the delay in responding but I've literally only just noticed your thread. My health hasn't been great recently so haven't been posting as much as usual.

Housing benefit is administered by your local Authority and not DWP. Sounds like it's a normal review, which does happen sometimes. We've had a few other threads here recently where others are going through the same thing.

I'm certain from other threads of yours that either yourself or your wife are claiming a disability benefit such as PIP daily living, DLA mid/high rate care or AA? If so then there would be no non dependant deductions for your daughter anyway, although they do often still ask for their income.

When my daughter claimed UC a few years ago my LA at the time asked for a copy of her statement, even though I was claiming daily living PIP.

morning poppy, as always its lovely to here from you and you never ever have to say sorry for anything as you do so much for so many on here. my turn to say sorry now but im really sorry you,ve not been well or not well at the moment and hope things are getting better for you. i often wonder what we would all do without you so get well really soon. my physical health is only getting worse legs and back/spine are not good but my mental health is always waiting to show its ugly head. yes i recieve pip high mobility and low living component so basically my daughter living here and working dosnt make any difference to my claim. i was more concerned why id got a review so early as la has paid 5 payments of c/t and 6 housing benefit so far so basically a new claim. i did ask them on friday why they were doing a review so soon to which they said id had a claim some yrs ago then we had to cancel claim because of wifes inheritence then march this claimed again they said review was because of this to make sure we had same money coming in. i did do some searches but didnt find much only someone saying its normal for them to do this and recipients of these letters are randomly piced and one guy saying he,d had 2 in 20 years. with me and my mental health i just started asking questions well why us so soon after claim and so on. it was basically a 3 page letter page just sign here and other 2 daughters wages and what income we had coming in. one amusing part was asking if we pay housing, how much and who to. crazy really as l/a pay some of it so yes a basic letter but not basic for my head if you know what i mean. can never thank you enough poppy and much love from my familly to yours x

hopefully this will help others when they get one of these letters as found out today its part of the norm now instructions to all councils they must review 40 aplications a month . if you are like me and worry abut these letters then dont because as i say part of the norm now and hope you all have a great day.😀
