UC Migration Advice ESA support Group
Good Morning just looking for some advice if possible regarding our recent UC Migration
We have just migrated over from tax credits, housing benefit Contributions based ESA to UC as a joint claim my ID was accepted instantly but my partners wasn't and it's her that's disabled
She has just got off the phone from a Biographical appointment with UC and has now passed the ID check great so we thought
She currently gets Contributions based ESA and is in the support group but the lady on the phone insisted that she now must attended a job centre appointment next Tuesday regarding her ESA claim and a intense work search
My partner explained she's already in the support group and it's meant to be migrated over and the lady said she must attended and if the support group is needed it can be overrideed which just seems wrong to me
Can anyone confirm if this is the correct process please or has the lady got it wrong ?
Thank you in advance

No this is not correct. Your support group will migrate to no work commitments though it might take more than one payment cycle for this to happen.
Hopefully someone can tell you what the best course of action is, as you should not be having any work focused interviews at all.

As she's in the Support Group she has no commitments but she may need to attend an appointment at her local Job centre as part of the normal claims process. If she's unable to attend she can ask for a reasonable adjustment for a telephone appointment.
In the meantime she needs to put a message onto her journal to tell them she's in the Support Group. She does not need a fit note.
It will take a few weeks for ESA to send her details across to UC. Once this is done your claim will be updated and she'll need to agree to her commitments, which will only be to report any changes.
