Hi, my name is Heath4099!
I became a double above the knee amputee last June and confined to a wheelchair permanently and need to use a hoist whenever moving around. Hope everyone is well.

Hi @Sandy_123
Thanks for the welcome .
I do have an amazing ffamily so lots of support. It has taken a while for me to accept what has happened and I do still have depression and anxiety plus alopecia due to trauma.
I'm not suitable for prosthetics so I do feel like I've lost most of my independence and lack motivation a lot.
I hope you are well Sandy. Hugs 💖

That's a shame your not able to try prosthetics, it will take awhile as it's a big loss and a huge change to your life. I'm glad you have good support it makes all the difference. We have quite a few members here who have gone through amputation. Have you spoke to the drs about your depression

I have antidepressants
@Sandy_123 and when I had the amputations I had psych help while in hospital which was really helpful.
