Hi, my name is Nicki
I just happened to stumble across you lovely lot while looking for info on the initial call to PIP.
My former CPN said it was about 30 mins, but I struggle with talking on the phone so have been putting it off for a very long time!
Does anybody know the current initial call takes (when my Dad got it, my Mom called and got my dad to give his permission to talk to them while he was present with him, then Mom and I filled out the forms)
I don't have any stresses over - it's just phone calls - and also with phone calls, unless you can write really quickly, you can't necessarily take notes to keep as a 'first contact' - I used to be a nurse so I probably take more notes than I need to, as in nursing, they say if it's not written down, it didn't the happen!
Sorry for waffling on - I suspect I write and say more than is needed most of the time 🤦♀️🤦🏼♀️

Hi @Nicki80
A warm welcome to the community.
The length of the first phone call can vary depending if you are ready with all of the information that they ask for. As your mum did, when your dad received PIP, you can still ask someone else to take the call.
Citizen's advice say "It should take about 20 minutes to complete the call. If you’d prefer someone else to call for you that’s fine, but you need to be with them so you can give permission for them to speak for you".
If you have a look at how to claim PIP, it tells you what information you will need to have with you when you call them.
I hope this helps. I am sure there are many others on here than can give you more in depth advice.
