Hi, my name is Schnauzermum! Will a fit note get my son out of attending appointments and courses?

I do everything but handle his money. I don't want to do that for him.

You can find the information by logging into his journal and click "home" from the list find "payments and advances" and click that. Click on one of the recent dates and it will give you information of exactly what's included with his claim. If it says Limited Capability For Work Related Activity, then that's the Support Group equivalent and he should have no commitments.

He is in the LCW group. He has been in the same group since changing to uc in feb '22. We have been to appointments twice since then, until may this year when it's now monthly appointments with tasks/courses to sign up for.

Then that's not correct, he should have been entitled to the LCWRA element from the start of his claim. Does he have proof that he was in this group, such as an old letter? If he does then I'd advise you to go with him to his local Job centre and give it to them.
If not then he can make a Right Of Access request and ask for the information they hold on him. He can ask for information between specific dates.
In the meantime he should put a message onto his journal and tell them when he claimed UC that he was in the Support Group for ESA and the LCWRA element should be included on his claim.
