UNIVERSAL CREDIT
Hello I put in for a new claim universal credit on 5th Oct. I put fit note in 7th Oct. I had my first appointment at job centre this morning. He asked me if I had brought bank statements with me I said no because they didn't ask me to bring any. So he said do I bank online. So he looked at how much money I had in all my accounts and checked my cards. I have under £500 from all my accounts put together. He said I should get my first payment on 11th November asked if I wanted an advance. So I borrowed a couple of hundred. Does that mean I won't have to send in any bank statements now to universal credit or could they still ask at a later date. I also have appointment next week to see about all my health problems and then give me a uc50 form. How long will that take before I know if I can get LCWRA. ThAnk yoU

I see from a recent thread that your UC claim closed due to capital of more than £16,000 so a decision maker may ask you provide bank statements so they can see what you spent that money on. A work coach can't make decision on whether to allow your claim, only a decision maker can do that.
You won't know if there's any UC entitlement until you receive your first statement which will be around 4th or 5th of November.
For the work capability assessment before you receive the UC50 form you need to be referred for the assessment and usually this is done around 29 days after you provided your first fit note. Once that's done you'll receive the form in the post a few days later.
