UC APA advice again please
Hi All, I hope you are well 😀
I was hoping to get some advice as such with regards to requesting an APA for how often I receive my UC.
I’ve seen advice on a few posts about having to wait, and only receiving half your money then the remainder 14-15 days later and I’ve tried my best to work this out but my brain cannot seem to fathom it.
I am already seriously struggling not receiving my child tax credits weekly, it used to tide me over lovely, bills are already backing up and I am utterly usless with money and budgeting I have numerous arrears for priority bills/utilities and my health problems arnt getting any better.
I migrated over to uc on 22nd August from ESA, and I got my first UC payment on 28 September 2024 of £1812.82 (less new style ESA £598.87) so I received £1162.31.
I requested an APA for my rent to be paid directly to my landlord which was approved so as of 28th this month £436.42 will go directly to my landlord. So I figure going forward I will receive £725.58.
I don’t want to request the APA right now as I need my full money on 28th of October, however if I was to request an APA the next day or a few days later and it was approved what would I receive on what dates etc. I know this cannot be answered accurately but just a rough idea would help my head massively
I hope this makes sense and thanks in advance

Hi, I just want to point out that your landlord will receive payment on the same day that every other landlord receives theirs rather than on your payment date.

If you request it after your October payment you will only receive half of the payment on 28th November and the other half 14 to 16 days later.
My daughter’s rent is paid direct to our LL on her UC payment date, every month. My LL receives the payment on the same date. There’s been no issues since she started claiming help with the rent at the start of the year.

Haha this could be another one of their big fat lies to me then - UC trying to explain why my rapid-reclaim via Citizens Advice Bureaux RAPID-RECLAIM service for the same address and landlord took 14 weeks to be sent.
