PIP PHONE ASSESSMENT
Hi Folks
I have a PIP phone assessment next week.
Can you kindly advice what I need to do in order to prepare for this?
how long do they usually last ?
What happens after that?
Any ideas of time duration?
Thanks in advance for any advice offered.

They will ask you questions about your health condition and how they affect you. They will do this by asking questions about daily life. Try not to answer any questions with just a yes or no and try to give as much relevant information as possible
If you kept a copy of the form you returned (you should have) you should have a read of that to remind yourself of what you told them. Some people find it helpful to write some notes before the assessment so they have something to refer back to.
Assessments can last anywhere from 20 to 120 minutes, sometimes longer.
Once the assessment is complete a report will be written and returned to DWP. From there a decision maker will look at that, as well as any other evidence you sent and make their decision. Decisions can take up to about 12 weeks after the report was returned.
Once a decision is made you will be contacted.

You've received some excellent advice from @poppy123456 there, so I just wanted to wish you the best of luck with your assessment @geek84. We're here if you'd like to talk afterwards or share how you feel it went.

We'll be here @geek84! Best of luck for your assessment and don't rush your answers, it's okay to pause and think about what they're asking and what you want to tell them.

Good Morning
Just to let you know, I had my phone assessment yesterday, It was carried out by a company called Capita, and lasted for about 40 minutes.
The lady said DWP should be contacting me within the next 8 weeks.

Good Morning @Albus_Scope
I just need to wait now.
I get the feeling that they might want me to come to their office for an assessment.

You've had your assessment by phone so you won't need to attend anything in person. The next step is they will return the report to DWP and a decision maker will look at that and any other evidence you sent, as well as the form you filled in and make a decision.
Decisions can take up to 12 weeks after the report is returned.
