UC and work confusion
hello, myself and my partner migrated over from support group ESA it is his claim and I was named on it, job centre advised I need to find work up to 30 hours, I’ve found a job which is less than this, I’m confused at AET, is it based off my income working as he can’t work? I’ll earn just over the required, will they force me to find more work?
Will the whole amount I earn be taken from our UC claim as the amount I earn will change every month, I’m so confused with it all, I thought I was doing the right thing accepting the job as I thought the hours were 25 a week but I presume because I’m new it’s less, but I’d still earn over the AET (I think that’s what it’s called)
We have four children and he can’t do the things I do like drop offs and pick ups, cooking etc he doesn’t claim pip so I can’t claim carers for him, I’m worried about the JC forcing me to find more work and I’m swamped already I don’t know how I’m supposed to live like this
Any help would be great appreciated x

Your AET will be based on a single person which is £892/month. If your earnings are more than that then you will be in light touch group so no appointments needed.
Not all of the earnings you receive will affect your UC because you have the work allowance, which applies to the claim and not individual person.
If you claim for help with your rent your work allowance will be £404/month, if you don't it will be £673/month. For every £1 of earnings you receive over those amounts your UC will reduce by 55p.
Good luck with your new job.
