Just reading there is alot of scams regarding living allowance texts and UC apps

If in doubt you should always look for and call the official number on gov.uk and not click on links or call numbers given via text.

regular scams and cons in general often have clues.
not knowing your name and using generics like hello, or your email address name.
wording that shows English isn't a first language.
emails from your own email address called spoofing
texts from numbers which when googled show listings as nuisance
dramatic alerts such as "your device is infected"
"we have a parcel for you we couldn't deliver please confirm your address"
"we owe you money on you claim please text your details to confirm with out records "
"I've hacked you, I see everything you do please send bitcoin immediately or I'll share a video of you to your contacts "
things like these are almost always fake
