Hi, my name is ashu1687! Backdate Carers Allowance?

my wife and me in on universal credit.and she is on LCWRA and didn’t know about carer element I can apply.she is on LCWRA since last December and just found out I can get carer element.can I apply back dated?
I am working full time too.but mostly I help her day to day help

You will only be entitled to carers element of UC if she claims a qualifying disability benefit such as PIP/ADP daily living or DLA mid/high rate care. Her claiming LCWRA doesn't entitle you to claim carers element unfortunately. Same rules apply to carers allowance.

Assuming you're not living in Scotland, if she doesn't currently claim PIP or DLA has she taken a look at the descriptors for PIP to see if she would qualify? You can see them here.
