London Northern railway

Just wondering if opinions have changed about the new trains on the Hereford - Worcester- onwards? I thought they were meant to be accessible?

in my opinion these aren't. I normally can use trains without assistance. It's lucky I was with a family member - it's a disgrace- I found it unacceptable to need help in this modern day to need help.

These should have been built like the Greater Anglia or Great Northern as those are accessible- no issue these I think have been built far too high and without lowerable entrance. These should be lowered down if they can to increase accessibility. The lack of ticket checks won't help make funds for them to make changes.

Both stations I used no ticket barriers and I wonder how many people know when they can travel free.

It's not raising funds for improvements which are needed to make access better. The other thing is being reliant on a lift at Worcester which was being troublesome.

I just hope they can get their act together, in this area for I would recommend buses.

More should be done to improve train accessibility and on quiet stations just use the entrance side and get the train height and boarding sorted.

Has anyone started to act to try and get improvements with these trains or stations.

Some really are beautifully done. If I wasn't around the area I'd take action but as I'm not- I wonder what is going on.

Hi @johndtay I'm afraid I don't know much about the trains in this area but sorry to hear that they've not been made accessible. It's always so disappointing when new things come in and don't offer the accessibility that everyone needs to use the services independently.

I know you said you're not in the area, but have you thought about raising your concerns with the company to see if they can comment?

Hopefully some of our members might know more about what's been happening.

There are all of these regulations referencing equal access to trains, but how they ‘failed completely’ on this front with low floor access trains and one of the largest areas in the country now has trains you can’t use without assistance- absolutely pathetic- I think buses for me up here when I come.
