ESA - Universal Credit
Good afternoon all.
I am still in receipt of ESA income based. I was informed about 7 years ago that everyone will eventually migrate to Universal Credit.
I am due to receive my state pension next year. So I was wondering if they will just leave me on ESA until then. Has anyone else been in this position?
Thank you

The timeframe for migration to UC for those claiming Income Related ESA is anytime from now up until December 2025. I wouldn’t want to guess whether you will receive a letter before you reach state pension age.
Are you claiming ESA as a single person or with a partner named on your claim?

Hi,
The process was accelerated a few months ago. Now everyone should receive migration letters by the end of 2025.
I don't think age will be taken into account for the migration letters. I think they're just automatically being sent to everyone in the final IR ESA & HB group now.
Will be interested to hear whether anyone else has had the letter in a similar position.

Hi poppy123456
So it looks like I will migrate to UC then as my birthday isn't until August.
I am claiming as a single person.
Thank you for your reply

Thank you for your reply.
I have had no letter as yet. But we still have a few weeks until the end of the year.

No one can answer that question because it's anytime up until December 2025. We are only in 2024.

Sorry I really misread that. I was thinking 2024 not 2025!!!
