This quote will resonate with many in the cerebral palsy community and the broader disabled community, and it certainly resonates with me!
Just like many of you, I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase, “There’s no such word as ‘can’t’” at some point in your life. However, constantly pushing yourself and ignoring your body’s signals can be harmful to both your physical and mental well-being.
Rest is just as important as activity, and it does not mean you are lazy or not doing enough. It means you are being smart and working with your body. Here is some information on managing fatigue and the Spoon Theory.
