hi I’m really confused I’ve received my migration letter
I work 16 hours week have a child with high rate dla don’t claim careers because of my income
My partner is on Esa was transferred from disability benefits years ago so was he is on work activity group income related he does not receive any payment from them when we transfer to universal credit will I need to increase my hours
Will he be expected to look for work and can he claim careers allowance are not thanks any advice would be appreciated

As your partner was in the work related activity group then this will be LCW for UC, which means they do not need to look for work but could be expected to attend appointments.
You can claim carers element of UC for looking after your child because there's no earnings limit to carers element. As a carer you will have no work commitments.
Your partner will not be able to claim carers allowance if you claim carers element for your child.
Does your partner claim a disability benefit such as PIP daily living or DLA mid/high rate care?

no my partner doesn’t claim anything else just the esa even though he doesn’t physically receive payment
We have not transferred over to universal credit yet but could he claim careers allowance
R am I best of waiting till we go on to universal credit
Will my partner be expected to put sick notes in as he never had do this as been on the esa for years and years
