Free support & advice
Does anyone know of an organisation that provides 1 people. I am looking for support & advice on issues relating to a reduction made to my direct payment (impacting on the level of care I now receive) and my other issue relating to my disability/ benefit entitlements. I have tried Disability Law Service, but unfortunately they are full and not taking on anymore cases at the moment. I would really appreciate any suggestions that anyone can give me as these issues are having a detrimental affect on my mental, physical and emotional wellbeing on a daily basis.

HI
With the direct payment, you've probably had some kind of review of your needs and they ( local authority) have reduced it. That gives the impression that they have assessed your needs as changed. If you don't agree you can ask for them ( I assume local authority) to tell you how they've come to their decision.
The only people I think might be able to at least advise or tell you where to get help would be an advocacy service which you could "google" for where you live.
Hope that helps.

Try raising it with a local cllr, locally we forced a rethink of major cuts to carers direct payments by carers kicking up a royal stink to anyone who would listen (though they have been steadily tightening the rules on what it can be used for annoyingly and some of the rules are frankly just utterly stupid and driven by "public perception" and "optics")

You are very welcome
Also check out this guide from mind -https://www.mind.org.uk/information-support/legal-rights/complaining-about-health-and-social-care/overview/
All about how to complain about health and social care
If the health and social care lot locally won't listen you can also go to the regulator - but see the list of advocacy organisations at the bottom of that page who can likely help and take the stress off you (plus they often know the technical terms to use that get people's attention - duty of care etc)

Hi just seen your post and if you have it all sorted that is great however, if you are still searching
(please do not be confused with the title) help with benefits, direct payments are not included in the heading however, I am sure if they are not able to assist, they will be able to direct you to someone who can. Good luck.1 -
thank you very much
