hi,
Our son is registered blind and disabled, and wheel chair bound non verbal, he has turned 18 and lives with us at home, we are lost regards to his benefits as a adult and as I am not working and on UC I get extra for him in my claim, I want to find out if he is entitled to free prescriptions and dental in this circumstance and if claiming benefits in his own right will be better of for us as a family financially, any help will be appreciated
thank you

If he’s still in full time non advanced education then he will remain as a dependant in your claim until he either leaves education or until the Sept following his 19th birthday.
If he’s on your UC claim then he will still be entitled to NHS treatment.
After that he will be able to claim UC in his own right.

If you didn't know about this already, you can become his appointee to manage benefit claims on his behalf.
