LCW and work

Hello, I'm looking for help as I've been trying to find answers online and I'm going around in circles!
I currently receive PIP and some UC. I'm classified as self employed, but the amount I work each week varies due to my health condition. Sometimes I can work 30 or 35 hours, others just 10, due to my health… could I claim Limited Capability to work and still work these hours? I read somewhere that the earnings limited is discounted if you receive PIP, but then I've also read somewhere you can't receive enhanced daily living PIP (which I do) and LCW at the same time… help! I'm confused!

Hi there @JFO81 and welcome to the community!
I'm afraid I don't have all of the answers here, but I can say there's no limit to the hours you can work whilst claiming PIP. I've not heard anything about being unable to get LCW whilst claiming PIP, that doesnt sound right at all?1 -
In terms of Universal Credit, working & LCWRA/LCW the PIP is irrelevant.
After a Work Capability Assessment if found to have either LCW or LCWRA, you will have a work allowance which means you can earn a certain amount before the Universal Credit is reduced.
If your earnings reduced your UC entitlement to zero for 6 consecutive months, then your claim would close.
You can absolutely have UC LCW/LCWRA and PIP at the same time.

Hello I got awarded lcw on 24th December which means I get work allowance on UC I am single with no housing costs, my first sick note I reported was 5th September, the last 3 periods I had earning like SSP and holiday pay my next payment is 12th January on UC the period is 6th December till 5th January will my work allowance be applied for my January assessment period to then be pay on the 12th January and does anyone know if they recalculate my work allowance from the last 3 periods as that's when I first.report sick notes? Confused how it all works, I got told work allowance starts straight after decision maker put letter in your journal which was 24th December just want to know I'll have my work allowance for January payment and hopefully recalculate for the last 3 periods as that's when my sickness started

See your thread here.
It's not always possible to have an answer to your question straight away. Members here post freely in their own spare time and most have health conditions theirself. Once someone sees a question they know the answer to they will respond as I did on your other thread.
