Hi, my name is nancynancy! Does anyone please have any idea what type of pillow I should use?
hi everyone! I’ve recently been diagnosed with chiari malformation and I’ve been using a cervical shaped pillow to sleep cause of this but have recently found this doesn’t help anyone and I seem to get headache and face pain from this:(
Does anyone please have any idea what type of pillow I should use? Thanks so much

I didnt get on with my cervical pillow at first, then I flipped it round the other way and I found the headaches went away. I guess it all depends on the cervical pillow used.
I think the best person you could speak to is @chiarieds she is a wealth of information regarding chiari malformation. 😁

Hi @nancynancy - sorry I just saw this as I was putting my computer off last night (thank you for the tags Albus & Sandy)
In the USA they developed some 'Chiari' pillows with the help of neurosurgeons & Chiari 1 Malformation patients, which are still available:
Unfortunately I do not have one to 'test drive' but I know of people several years ago who found them beneficial. However they may seem expensive + shipping costs from the USA.
Cervical pillows are not really ideal for Chiari patients
Personally I like to lie as flat as possible & have a feather & down pillow which is really soft & in which I can make a comfortable 'dent'.
