Feeling low

I’ve felt low since the beginning of the year and several things have happened and it just got too much so I reached out for help from my local mental health team after 2 assessments as the first assessment lady said I needed a more in depth Assesment as I had several things going on, I am in a 5 month waiting list for help and counselling , when I found out how long the list was I cried , I said to the lady who assessed me what do I do in the mean time, she suggested asking GP for anti depressants, I do not want to go on them for various reasons that are my own choice, I just dread to think what people do who are worse off than me if they have to wait so long for help. Some days are easier than others, I have 4 people that really depend on my help in my house aswell as trying to be a good mum to 5 children, wife, daughter sister and friend, it’s a lot to juggle but I am trying my best.

I was diagnosed with OCD, trauma, GAD and depression. Some of these things I’ve suffered with but struggled along with for 20 plus years or more some are within the last few years. I’m an over thinker so that doesn’t help.

Coming on this site and receiving positive messages about things that play on my mind have helped me a lot so thank you to those people you know who you are :)

Hey @dannistar, I'm glad to hear that being on the community has helped you with getting through everything you're having to deal with at the moment. It really is difficult when you ask for help, it's accepted by the doctor you need help, but you're then told help will be months away.

We've sent an email to you as well by the way, if you could keep an eye out for it 😊
