Lwc

hi , does anyone know what actually happens next ,
I had a work capability appointment back in 2021 , I was awarded lwc for a year , since that time I was then awarded pip , and since then been diagnosed with bipolar on top of other disability’s , after the year was up I had not heard anything from universal credit until recently , even after I’d put several messages on my journal , I was expecting after the year was up to have another lwc appointment, it’s not until I uploading a change in circumstances that they have now sent me out a booklet to fill out for my disability’s and then I’m expecting to send that back but will I then am have a meeting as well ? It’s all so much you have to go through , I’m confused as to why they had left me not even called me
For 2 and half years after the 12 months was up , and if I had not uploaded a health change how long would have that continued ! They now want to call me each month or go in for meetings regarding work , I can just about get my son to school at a push , . Is it normal that they left it for so long

Welcome to the community @Virgo_ 😊 I do hope we can help you out.
So what will likely happen now is they will have you go through a Work Capability Assessment again like you did in 2021. Regarding appointments, you should be able to request they be telephone appointments in your work journal. The reasons why they've just ignored you up till now I genuinely cannot answer. You could try raising a complaint if you wish, as they should have been checking and responding to any journal requests you have made.
Since it has been a few years since you went through the WCA I'll just link our advice section about it incase you want to read up a bit more: Work Capability Assessment for ESA or Universal Credit | Disability charity Scope UK
Let us know how you get on, with the WCA and with the appointments issue.

thank u both for
Ur reply’s , I feel like I should carry a complaint against this as it has just been left and now they are only just doing something about it , I know they had a back log but to hear
Nothing at all for so long and now want me to actually go into the office for a face to face even after explaining my situations is ridiculous, I know the work coach is just trying to do her job but I feel as tho they pressure you when it’s unnecessary, . I should have heard something after the year , but 2 years with nothing and now pressure is just an absolute joke .thank you I will keep you
Posted on the situation, it really is just an unnecessary situation. Wen the year was up someone rung me and said they will call back in 3 months so I thought that was the grace period for lwcr ( don’t know if I’ve spelt that right ) but I think ul know what I mean , but yeah to then have nothing ! Hopefully when I fill out the form I will send it off and then possibly a tel interview I’m not fully sure but fingers crossed it’s not another long winded situation xx

So I managed last week to complete my paperwork for my lwc and send the paperwork back , however I’ve just had my second appointment and she said I have to attend my next app face to face , she said it wasn’t up to her and if not I would get sanctioned, so I told her I’ll have to take the sanction as even at the point I was shaking trying to explain that this should have been dealt with sooner and I probably wouldn’t be in this situation, I said I know I will not be able to go, after ten minutes of discussing she said on the next appointment she will do tel but I’m only putting it off as I will have to go and I will never be able to avoid it , I asked her kindly to please wait untill my paperwork had been assessed , she was not happy
, but is anyone aware how long this could take to review really can’t bare having this every 4 weeks I feel sick ,

As you’re unable to attend in person due to your health conditions ask for a reasonable adjustment.
For your work capability assessment the process could take several months. There are delays with review decisions.

what does that actually mean is that a thing a reasonable adjustment ? Sorry I’m
Really not aware of these terms ,
I’m still shaking and she was just awful , again I know they have a job to complete and I’m do get that , but it’s just horrible the way it’s already making me feel I actually can’t cope , it was like she was sighing saying not this again ,
I said to her she’s probably heard it a million times and I asked her if she could a video link but she refused she said it was out of her hands and that will be my only option on the next call for my following appointment

Hi @Virgo_
Sorry to hear you're having such a difficult experience, it sounds very stressful.
Reasonable adjustments are given to disabled people by organisations or people who provide services. They must make these changes to prevent your disability putting you at a disadvantage compared with others who are not disabled.
An example would be having video appointments rather than face to face appointments. You are well within your right to ask for a video appointment as a reasonable adjustment and usually the organisation should comply or they would be discriminating.0 -
thank you so much for this
Information,
I will get in touch , altho I asked her on the phone , and she declined , shall I put that on a message for my journal ? Or do I ask someone else , I’m clueless , I couldn’t have stressed it enough to her and she did say yes for my next time but only next time no more . I’ve been stressed and anxious since that
But it shouldn’t have to make you feel like this , thank you for this xx

Put a message onto your journal. Your work coach can’t sanction you, only a decision maker can do that. Before a sanction is made they usually contact you to explain why you didn’t do something you should have. If they don’t accept that reason then a sanction could be made.
