Asked to submit bank statements to UC
Hi everyone. I just discovered this community just yesterday. I have been ask to submit my four month bank statement by UC. I don’t know if my partner has to submit her own as well. But when I looked into the message for my partner it says need to be completed by your partner which is myself. Another concern of mine is that I sometimes work part time as a self employed during those period of the 4 months statement they are asking for And I didn’t declare those income. Anything to worry about?

Hey @toks, welcome to the Scope community 😊 We've actually seen a big uptick in these bank reviews. They aren't targeted, accounts are chosen at random and asked for four months of bank statements and ID. Roughly how much did you earn without reporting it? It is very possible they will bring up the income during the phone interview as part of the review.

UC are doing millions of these checks, I went through one last year and lots of others on the forum have been through one.
After you submit the information they are looking for, you will have a telephone interview.
You'll be asked a series of scripted questions about other potential sources of money.
Then questions about some of your banking transactions, which might not appear to make any sense.
I myself (as capital was over £6k on paper) was then asked to submit individual bank statement pages showing my Cost of Living payments.
Then I had a journal message saying my review was complete and my payments were correct.
You need to be honest with them about working.
