PIP Factual Report
Morning everyone. New user here, thanks for having me. Hoping someone can shed some light on this for me.
So several months ago I underwent my PIP review. I went from HR mobility, SR daily living to HR in both. (I think my review was affected by the recent high court ruling and I think my original claim may be as well). Been done and dusted as I say for months with no changes or updates. Today I noticed that 3 weeks ago the IAS have asked my GP to submit a factual report (which as it turns out is not very factual). Any idea why they would request this when the decision has been made months earlier? Could it be to do with a case review under the MM ruling? Thanks for listening.

Welcome to the community @Gedboy99 😊 I'm not too sure why they'd request this after a decision has already been made, it does sound a bit strange, especially considering you've received the highest amount possible. Unfortunately this isn't something I've come across before, so I wouldn't like to say for certain why this might have happened. But I hope some of our more experienced members might be able to offer their thoughts soon. Sorry that I can't be of more help!
One thing that might be worth a go is ringing the PIP enquiry line to see if they can tell you what's happening with your case. They may not be able to tell you everything, but it could still be worth a try.
Hope things become clearer soon!

Thanks for the response. It does seem very strange. Once I find something out I will put an update on here 👍

So I called PIP today and was told that the factual report was irrelevant as a decision had already been made. She couldn’t answer why the report had been requested and I’m not sure she understood me too well but told me that I didn’t need to worry. So possibly just an admin glitch 👍

That's good to hear @Gedboy99, glad it wasn't anything sinister! Thanks for keeping us updated 😊
