Carers Allowance and Universal Credit
hey, in April I started claiming carers allowance for my mom. I was receiving £327 every 4 weeks. Last month I was advised to claim universal credit because I should get around an extra £130 a month. However, I’m very confused. I logged into my uc account today to view my first payment and it says I will be paid £138? So my question is will my universal credit and carers allowance be paid separately so my monthly total will roughly be around £430 or will I just get £138 a month. I have tried to read about how it’s deducted from it and stuff but it really confuses me I just need to know how much I will end up getting monthly as I’m so confused 😅.

You will get paid Carers Allowance separately. It is deducted from your UC.

Be sure to check your Universal Credit (UC) statement to see if they have added the carer element in addition to your standard allowance.
Carer's Allowance is deducted from your UC award, but you will continue to receive this separately too.
