APA having rent paid to landlord
I haven’t had a migration letter yet but am trying to get my head around UC quirks. I should be eligible for alternative payment arrangements and I’m especially wanting my rent paid directly to my landlord (local council) but am a bit confused as to how this works.
My rent is charged weekly but we have 4 rent free weeks a year (2 at Christmas and 2 at Easter). Will UC just calculate my housing costs as 48 weeks a year and divide by 12 leaving my rent account to be all over the place? I get really anxious about being in debt and losing my home hence wanting the direct payments to my landlord but not if this is going to make things more worrying.
Has anyone else opted for this APA and how does it work?
Thank you
