Migration from ESA Income Support LCWRA to UC

Thank you for returning with that information. It’s as i thought and you were in the WRAG. Your ESA included the SDP so your UC should also include Transitional Protection.
This means if your review for ESA was started by DWP and you’re found to have LCWRA then the extra money will only be paid from the assessment period in which the decision was made.
Unfortunately, with the Transitional Protection (TP) included in your UC this will erode with the addition of the LCWRA element. For this reason you may not be any better off. It will depend on how much the TP is. If it’s more than £416.19/month you will not be any financially better off.

okay I’ll have to not the language that I did use but I’m afraid I can’t guarantee that my thoughts on UC will suddenly become really, really positive. I don’t just think of this benefit negatively on here, I think of it negatively in the outside world as well.

I should have used better wording in that sentence that you altered without using the word that I did.

I do notice the positive experiences as well but I do notice a heck of a lot of negative experiences as well.

I don’t really positive language in the outside world when I talk 🗣️ about this benefit but that’s a different matter altogether. I can absolutely understand that on an online forum you have to be more careful with your choice of language. 🛜👨💻👩💻🧑💻💻🖥️⌨️

sorry Poppy I shouldn’t have chosen that language in that sentence. I should have better worded the sentence that was modified. I’m afraid I can’t guarantee that I’ll suddenly become Mr Positive 😀 on this benefit. It’s okay to be negative, I won’t be alone with the fear and negativity. I’ll just have to not use an offensive word while I’m expressing the thoughts that I have.

Thank you for that Poppy.
I really appreciate you taking the time to explain it properly.
I know it's a little early, but I wish you a Happy Christmas and Healthy New Year to you and your family.
Take care,
Alison

You’re only being nice 😊👌. I think I’ll wish Poppy a Happy Xmas in advance too ✅☑️✔️. She thoroughly deserves a wonderful Xmas 🎄. She’s a big contributor to this forum. I see her name in so many threads, offering some top advice. She cares so much about helping many out. She’s there for them.

Can’t fault her one little bit ✔️. How knowledgable she comes across, you’d think she was a benefits advisor. ✅
