Needing a Carer with me for Housing Association appointments and hospital visit - First post!
Hi everyone,
This is my first post and I have a problem that I think many people may share. I need someone to be with me when operatives come from my Housing Association to do disability works because I have been abused by them before (proven). I can have life threatening epileptic fits when I am stressed and I need someone to be with me and on my side when in stressful situations. I also need someone to go to hospital appointments with me.
However all my children live in Australia and my friends here are all too disabled and/or elderly to be able to help me.
I have approached 10 charities and Social Services in Hammersmith and Fulham Borough where I live but no-one is able to help me.
The disability works that need to be done are now in state of disrepair that could be life threatening i.e. telephone lines on the floor that I could trip over as I am half blind but I simply do not trust Housing Association operatives not to abuse me again when alone so what can I do?
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Lots of love,
Linda x😀

I note you approached Social Services already, was it for a formal needs assessment?
It strikes me you might benefit from having an advocate, if this isn't something you've looked into already

Hi Kimmy 87,
Yes I have already had a formal Social Services assessment and they said what I needed was outside their remit.
I will look into the advocate option since I have not tried that yet.
Many thanks,
Linda 😀
