Hi everyone - first time I am on here so hello to you all! Has anyone got experience they could share of how long it takes to get an occupational therapy report? My daughter is in year 2 at university. She had a first-time seizure in the summer and informed the university 2 months ago. Uni was very supportive and said they'd need to contact OT to see if any reasonable adjustments needed to be made for placement in October. She had her first appointment (on phone) with OT on 6 November. A report was sent to her that day but concluded the issue needed to be escalated to another doctor for further advice. No documents were asked for even though she had them all from the hospital. Was given another appointment 10 days later. This time a doctor spoke to her on phone and said he would need to seek further advice - again did not ask for her documents which included a letter with from her neurologist with results of an ECG showing no current signs of epilepsy (she sent them anyway in advance.) She is still waiting for the report and until the uni gets this, she is unable to go on her placement. She has supplied OT with the name and contact details of the neurologist who said he's happy to speak to the OT doctor if necessary. No timeline has been given for receiving the report and OT reception just keep taking messages and she is unable to speak to dr. OT seems to be focusing on possible triggers for another seizure but she has lived through all the ones they list since her first seizure and they are not triggers as she hasn't had another one. Does anyone know how long she should reasonably have to wait for this report? OT is supposed to facilitate pathways to work/study but so far seems to be creating obstacles! Best wishes and many thanks for any help!
